Job Summary

Receive, weigh and supply experimental materials for the different areas of the Pilot Plant for the development of new products, consumer tests, or any other related testing to R&D.

Coordinate the reception of raw and packaging materials from Mission Hills plant and external suppliers to the Pilot Plant

Coordinate and dispatch R&P materials between Mission Hills Pilot Plant & CP Antara warehouses and ensure movements are reflected in the system.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, weigh and supply experimental materials for the different areas of the Pilot Plant for the development of new products, consumer tests, or any other related testing to R&D.
  • Coordinate the reception of raw and packaging materials from Mission Hills plant and external suppliers to the Pilot Plant
  • Coordinate and dispatch R&P materials between Mission Hills Pilot Plant & CP Antara warehouses and ensure movements are reflected in the system.
  • Control of materials according to their quality and safety classification as well as their final disposal
  • Support in the implementation of SAP inventory management systems
  • Support for assigned Wall-to-Wall inventory functions.
  • Follow up on the findings made by EHS, Quality and other groups.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of R&P materials according to timeline.
  • Support Implementation of Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R), 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize and Sustain) and Visual control.
  • Support implementation of new technology, equipment strategies, and products within the Pilot Plant.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the inventory registered in the warehouse against inventory registered
  • Support and actively participate in appropriate margin improvement programs.
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Comply with all associated activities related to the warehouse management (handling of tools like lift trucks, hoists, elevators, balances, pumps, extraction hoods, etc.).
  • Handling of Raw Materials complying with its MSDS.
  • For packaging materials warehouse personnel are responsible to check Quantity CoA.
  • All packaging material that arrives at Pilot Plant’s warehouse must arrive with complete documentation.
  • Store the packaging materials in the place defined for it.
  • Review specification of raw materials and secure experimental ingredients from scientist requests
  • Weigh raw materials for batches following batch cards and Good Manufacturing Practices standards
  • Provide necessary information to the Materials coordinator, Pilot Plant Manager, GTC and Business partners.
  • Support the procurement of the Antara materials and supply to avoid production disruption: procurement, reception (or shipment), storage (or packing) and handling of the materials or finished goods.
  • Maintain inventory of Antara supplies.
  • Communicate and request major repair needs of equipment or facilities in a timely fashion.
  • Keep all assigned areas cleaned, including storage locations.
  • Properly label and maintain the storage of waste drums in the plot plant. Physically move drums onto pallets for movement to the waste management area.
  • Use appropriate internal business systems to plan pilot work; exploit data and information to drive improvement.
  • Lead by example and demand safe behaviors and awareness, sound environmental practices and commitment to quality; provides continuous insights on costs and cost drivers.
  • Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive, state and local guidelines related to EHS, Quality, and Regulatory.
  • Implement corrective actions to mitigate potential Supply, Production planning, EHS or Quality incidents.
  • Anticipate operational, technical, business and/or workforce problems and take actions to correct them.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

Education and Experience

Required: chemical engineering, Industrial engineering, logistics, technical in manufacturing / materials.

2 Years of experience preferable in materials management, warehousing, chemical manufacturing.

English: Effective and fluent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Required: Good Knowledge of Chemistry, Manufacturing Equipment and Processes. Working Understanding of GMP and Quality, 5S, and EHS. Knowledge of Equipment Maintenance, Calibration and Mechanical/Electrical basics.

Preferred (Asset): Understanding of product development process; knowledge of CP plant equipment strategies; knowledge of CP plant equipment manufacturing capabilities across all categories; understanding of Product Data Management (PDM)/Product Life Cycle Management (PLM), and Data Management Systems (DMS). Knowledge of FP&R execution strategies.

Skills and Requirements

Effective communication in verbal and written English and Spanish

Technology: Equipment, Formulas and processes

Ability to interface with computers and attain proficiency with various Pilot Plant software and data systems, SAP, PDM, etc.

Basic knowledge of Quality, EHS and Regulatory requirements

Operational: scheduling process and tracking systems
