The Materials & Manufacturing Planning Manager is responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning purchasing and expediting of materials and products to meet operational objectives and customer requirements. Monitor and direct the materials and manufacturing planning functions associated with the support of the manufacturing operation. Set aggressive improvement goals and report results on a regular basis. Maintain and report minimum inventory levels appropriate to the manufacturing operations. Utilize systems to reduce, control and disposition obsolete inventory. Advise and recommend changes to procedures, policies, processes, and equipment related to the materials management functions. Provide support for the implementation of supplier development programs and manufacturing certifications (i.e. supplier certification, ISO 9000 etc.) Assist in the development and implementation of improved Materials Requirements Planning systems.
