Role Purpose
The role is responsible for end-to-end finance controllership while also leading finance transformation initiatives to drive standardisation, automation, stronger governance, and scalable global finance operations. The incumbent will act as a bridge between core finance, systems, and business stakeholders , ensuring accuracy, control, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Transformation
- Lead finance transformation programs focused on process simplification, standardisation, and operating model optimisation.
- Drive automation and digitisation across Record-to-Report (R2R), leveraging ERP, workflow tools, RPA, and analytics.
- Partner with Finance Systems and Technology teams on ERP upgrades, system migrations, and data quality initiatives .
- Identify opportunities to improve close efficiency, reporting accuracy, and management insight .
- Support transition of work into the GCC, including process migration, stabilisation, and performance optimisation .
- Establish and track KPIs, SLAs, and value realisation metrics for transformation initiatives.
Finance Controllership
- Own financial accounting, close, and reporting processes across entities in line with IFRS / US GAAP / local statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close , with strong balance sheet substantiation and P&L governance.
- Oversee intercompany accounting, accruals, provisions, reconciliations , and accounting judgments.
- Partner with internal and external auditors to manage audits, regulatory reviews, and control testing .
- Maintain a robust financial control framework , including SOX / ICFR compliance where applicable.
- Provide oversight on accounting policy interpretation and implementation of new standards.
Stakeholder & People Leadership
- Act as a trusted partner to Global Finance, Business Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology stakeholders.
- Lead and develop high-performing controllership and transformation teams within the GCC.
- Influence senior stakeholders on control posture, transformation roadmap, and change adoption .
- Drive a strong culture of ownership, governance, and continuous improvement .
Key Skills & Experience
Must-have
- 22+ years of experience in Finance Controllership, Financial Accounting, or Corporate Finance within banking, financial services, or large MNCs.
- Proven track record in finance transformation, automation, or large-scale change programs .
- Experience working with global stakeholders and GCC operating models .
- Global exposure
- Strong executive presence
