Mechanic - Replacement Step #1

Overview

Position: Mechanic - Replacement Step #1 in the Transportation Department with School District #60. Applications must be completed online and will be accepted until noon, February 10, 2026.

Work arrangement : Hours of work are eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days/week. Duties to commence as soon as possible after closing and continue until the return of the incumbent. Work year base is twelve (12) months per year. Commencing salary: $43.81/hr.

Responsibilities

• Carries out duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
• Performs mechanical and electronic diagnoses and repairs on vehicles and equipment.
• Performs safety checks and road tests on vehicles.
• Keeps a clean and well maintained workplace at all times.
• Fills out work orders as required.
• May be called upon to act as lead hand in the absence of the Working Foreman - Transportation.
