Job Description

Mechanical & Piping Design
  • Design and develop piping systems for water, wastewater, sludge, chemical, air, and utility services.
  • Prepare and review P&IDs, piping layouts, GA drawings, isometrics, and support drawings.
  • Select appropriate pipe materials (CS, SS, DI, HDPE, UPVC, GRP) and components.
  • Design piping connected to mechanical equipment such as:
  • Pumps (centrifugal, vertical turbine, submersible)
  • Blowers, compressors
  • Filters, clarifiers, aeration systems
  • Tanks and pressure vessels
  • Ensure proper pump suction/discharge piping design and alignment.
Engineering Calculations & Standards
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, line sizing, velocity, and pressure drop calculations.
  • Ensure designs comply with AWWA, ASME, ISO, ASTM, IS codes, and project specifications.
  • Provide inputs for stress analysis where applicable.
Coordination & Reviews
  • Coordinate closely with Process, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and model reviews.
  • Review vendor drawings and integrate package equipment into the piping layout.
Construction & Site Support
  • Prepare material take-offs (MTO/BOQ).
  • Support procurement through technical bid evaluations.
  • Provide site engineering support during erection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Review and update as-built drawings.
