Job Description
We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Sheet Metal (1-3 yrs experience) to join our LAIA Innovation Pvt. Ltd. team in Bangalore.
This role is for builders, not just CAD modelers you should have seen your designs being laser-cut, bent, welded and assembled in the real world.
If you've designed sheet-metal enclosures, cabinets, panels or kiosks that were actually fabricated, this role is for you.
Role & responsibilities

- Prepare complete 2D production drawings with dimensions, tolerances, welding / fastening details and BOMs.
- Select and integrate hinges, latches, locks, telescopic rails, linear guides, fasteners and gaskets for doors and moving mechanisms.
- Plan mounting and routing for PCBs, power supplies, sensors and wiring harnesses (cable entry, glands, grommets, strain relief).
- Apply DFM / DFA / DFMA so parts are easy to manufacture and assemble using laser cutting, bending, welding and powder coating.
- Work closely with fabrication vendors / machine shops to solve manufacturability issues and iterate on prototypes.
- Support prototype assembly, perform fit-up checks, identify issues on the shop floor and update designs accordingly.
