Job Description
We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an experienced team working with highperformance grid solutions. In this role, you'll design and integrate STATCOM valve modules and contribute to substation equipment layout and mechanical integration.
What You'll Do
Mechanical design of valve modules: IGBT/Thyristorbased modules, busbars, base plates, cooling pipes and related components.
3D CAD & PDM: SolidWorks and Creo for modelling; Windchill for document control.
Structural & stress analysis: Perform and/or review analyses (SolidWorks Simulation, Creo Simulation), optimize models for strength, stiffness, and reliability, and evaluate outsourced analysis packages when applicable.
Substation layout design: Reactors, precharge resistors, capacitors, CTs/VTs/instrument transformers, transformers—often using AutoCAD.
Crossfunctional collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, production, and quality stakeholders and produce clear, highquality technical...
