We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to support our optoelectronic product portfolio through various sustaining engineering activities. This role involves executing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), updating Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Agile and SAP PLM systems, and modifying assembly and component drawings using Siemens NX CAD software.
Responsibilities
+ Support the optoelectronic product portfolio through sustaining engineering activities.
+ Execute Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to maintain product quality and consistency.
+ Update Bills of Materials (BOMs) in Agile and SAP PLM systems to ensure accuracy.
+ Modify assembly and component drawings using Siemens NX CAD software.
+ Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to optimize product design.
+ Ensure documentation accuracy for customer-facing deliverables.
+ Maintain high attention to detail in all engineering outputs.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
+ 2+ years of product design or drafting experience using a CAD design suite.
+ Proficiency in 3D CAD design, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with local and international teams.
+ Clear verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
+ Experience with Siemens NX CAD software is an advantage.
+ Familiarity with Agile and SAP PLM systems.
+ Knowledge of ECTR Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
+ Background in optical transceiver design.
+ Experience in high-volume production environments.
+ Understanding of die cast molding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication methods.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a 1st shift schedule, starting between 7-8am with a 30-minute to 1-hour lunch break. The ideal candidate should have flexibility to work up to 1-2 hours of overtime daily. The work setting is a Lab/R&D environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
