Job Description


Our Client, a Internet Content & Information company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer IV for their Redmond, WA/ Hybrid ( days) location.
 

Responsibilities:
  • Support PDE team through the development of new technologies, critical decisions for PDE system architecture, integration, manufacturing technology selection, thermal simulation and characterization, wearability (comfort), design verification, and reliability across various environmental and physical loading conditions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ID, EE, Systems and other XFN partners, to ensure successful product delivery.

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships and good rapport with team members.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in product development processes from concept to production.

  • SG (Smart Glasses) and AR (Augmented Reality) ecosystem and deliver exciting new experiences for our customers. Engineers on the PDE team work on cutting edge technologies and manufacturing processes to bring these complex products from concept to production. PDE system architecture, integration, manufacturing technology selection, thermal simulation and characterization, wearability (comfort), design verification and reliability across various environmental and physical loading conditions. You will collaborate cross-functionally with EE, Systems, Operations, Technical program management to lead the team to design and deliver the wearable from concept to production.


  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • + years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on product development

  • Exceptional engineering capabilities, with expertise in parts design, machine design, D CAD tools, injection molded part design, machined parts, sheet metal parts, weldment parts, manufacturing, and assembly.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong client relationships and good rapport with team members.

  • Proficiency in product development processes from concept to production.

  • Travel overseas to support product development process

  • Direct experience with Smart Glasses (SG) and Augmented Reality (AR) products.

  • Strong expertise in NX

  • Demonstrated experience developing and shipping large volume Consumer Electronics

  • Years of Experience: - Years+

  • AT LEAST Years specifically within consumer electronics product design.

  • Consumer product development, consumer electronics

  • Direct experience shipping products - particularly consumer electronics at large volume

  • Exceptional D Modeling expertise - particularly NX

  • Strong expertise and direct experience in designing and shipping with different materials, post-processing and manufacturing process - Injection molding, CNC, Stamping etc

  • Experience working with cross functional partners such as ID, tooling, DFX, systems, EE, etc.

  • Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers and suppliers

  • Direct experience in Smart Glass and/or Augmented Reality products

  • Experience with consumer grade optical systems

  • Expertise in structural, thermal simulation

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
