A fast-growing company specializing in energy solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support turbine manufacturing and production optimization initiatives. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer with hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, rotating equipment, and cross-functional collaboration. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the new hire will contribute to operational excellence by improving manufacturing efficiency, supporting new product development, and driving continuous improvement efforts while ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Location: Katy, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for turbine components, including rotors, stators, and housings. Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability of new products and support design-for-manufacturing (DFM) initiatives. Create and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues and quality deviations. Support implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement projects. Evaluate and select tooling, fixtures, and equipment for turbine assembly and testing. Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, and internal quality standards. Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and production line balancing. Assist with capital equipment justification and facility layout planning. Provide technical support to production teams and train operators on new processes and equipment. Interface with suppliers and vendors to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve part quality.
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required, Master’s preferred 5+ years of experience in turbine manufacturing, rotating equipment, or power generation systems Strong understanding of machining, casting, welding, and assembly processes Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems Familiarity with ASME codes, ISO standards, and energy sector regulations Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams Experience with microturbines or distributed energy systems preferred Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies preferred Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis preferred Certification in manufacturing engineering (CMfgE) or Six Sigma is a plus Primarily office-based with regular time spent on the production floor. Must be able to stand, walk, and occasionally lift/move items up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities necessary for this position include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus for reading technical drawings and inspecting components. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, but may occasionally include early mornings, late evenings, or limited weekend activity based on production demands
