Job Description
Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Mechanical Engineer for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be five months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: Work with Reliability Engineers to plan and perform Finite Element Analysis using Abaqus/Ansys. Collect problem inputs and requirements and create report based on the results of such analysis. Propose design/process modifications based on the analysis results. The candidate should be familiar with material models, element types and characteristics, and have good experience in choosing the right boundary and/or initial conditions. The candidate should have a strong proven track record of doing such analysis.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The candidate should be competent in taking a design database, meshing it appropriately and conducting analysis independently. The candidate should be familiar with material models, element types and characteristics, and have good experience in choosing the right boundary and/or initial conditions. The candidate should have a strong proven track record of doing such analysis. Drop and vibration modelling. Thermal and thermo-mechanical performance. Assembly process simulation with varying stress states. Implement global-local modelling techniques. Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and sensitivity analyses by varying dimensions of parts in assemblies Constitutive modelling: Fit parameters of experimental data to available material models. If needed, identify and execute specific materials characterization tests. The purpose of this team is to perform hardware reliability work using mechanical simulations to reduce testing costs. His role will contribute to building and running FEA models, importing geometries, meshing, setting up simulations, and interpreting results.
Qualifications: Stress Analysis: Years FEA Software ( Abaqus or Ansys ): Years CAD software ( CREO or Solidworks): years The ideal resume would contain proven, hands-on FEA experience in a company setting, strong stress-analysis abilities, experience with FEA and CAD software, and solid communication skills. Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Team player and detail-oriented. A deep understanding of mechanics, thermal engineering, and simulation methodologies Previous experience with applications and software related to the engineering field, such as Abaqus, Ansys, CREO, Hypermesh, Mechanics of Materials, Stress analysis, Failure Theories, Experimental Property Characterization - polymer, metal, Linear and non-linear finite element analysis (FEA), especially shock and drop Degree in Mechanical engineering, Applied Mechanics, or related field Minimum years of hands-on experience
