be mechanical engineer - interior design industry (jd)job title: mechanical engineer department: production location: bhiwandiexperience: 1 - 5 years (interior / furniture manufacturing preferred)________________________________________job summarythe mechanical engineer will support interior design & production teams by preparing technical drawings, coordinating boq/bom, ensuring design feasibility, and supervising manufacturing & site execution. the role requires strong technical knowledge, precision, and coordination with design, production, and vendor teams.________________________________________key responsibilities1. design & technical- prepare technical drawings, fabrication drawings & detail drawings for interior projects.- coordinate with interior designers to convert concepts into mechanical + production-ready drawings.- conduct design feasibility checks and suggest improvements.- ensure all drawings follow industry standards, material specifications, and accuracy.2. boq / bom & costing- prepare boq, bom, material list, and cutting list for furniture & interior components.- assist in basic costing / estimation based on materials & fabrication requirements.- verify material consumption & optimize designs for cost efficiency.3. production & manufacturing coordination- coordinate with factory team for production planning.- supervise fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical/interior components.- provide technical support to carpenters, fabricators, cnc, metal, and wood-working teams.- ensure product quality as per drawings and specifications.4. site execution support- visit sites for measurement, feasibility checks, and installation supervision.- resolve technical issues at site along with project manager / site engineer.- ensure timely execution as per project schedule.5. quality & documentation- maintain documentation of drawings, revisions, approvals, and project files.- conduct quality checks during production & installation.- ensure adherence to safety and engineering standards.________________________________________required skills- proficiency in autocad, solidworks, or similar design software.- strong understanding of materials: metal, wood, plywood, hardware, hinges, channels, ss, ms fabrication.- good knowledge of mechanical components used in furniture/interior systems.- ability to read & prepare technical fabrication drawings.- good communication & coordination skills.- time management & problem-solving ability.________________________________________qualification- . / /diploma - mechanical engineering- additional certification in autocad / solidworks is an added advantage.________________________________________preferred industry experience- interior design- furniture manufacturing- modular furniture / retail store fit-outs- fabrication / sheet metal / mechanical components
