Work Arrangement

Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Work Term

Summer 2026 (8 Months: May - December or 12 Months: May 2026 - April 2027)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The hourly pay range for this position is $22.50 - $36.20. Individual pay within this range is determined by several compensable factors, including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior co-op work terms completed.

Position

Join Our Team as an Mechanical Engineering Support (Co-op)! We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering student to work within our Metal-Enclosed Switchgear Product Team. The successful candidate will work closely with other team members in providing support to various products manufactured at S&C and will gain exposure to engineering design principles as well as manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drawing revisions using Microstation 2D and Solid Edge 3D CAD software.
  • Investigation of design change requests.
  • Investigate custom product designs to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist with projects to improve internal processes.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Diploma/Degree
  • Is in registered co-op program and available for the Spring/Summer 2026 work term
  • Can be proficient in Visual Basic
  • Can work with multidimensional arrays
  • Capable of transferring information from different sheets
  • Can debug and implement error handling
  • Some CAD experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A team player
  • Experience using CAD tools such as AutoCad, Microstation or Solid Edge is a strong asset
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Effort

Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.

Work Environment

Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
