Mechanical Handling Engineer

Job purpose:

The Mechanical engineer responsibilities comprise material handling study & report and

review of supplier document/drawings as per project requirements.

Educational or experience requirements:

M.E /B. E (Mechanical) with minimum 13 - 20 years of experience in relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in Material Handling Studies and Prepare / Check / Approve Material

Handling Study Report for Equipment and inline instruments.

2. Familiar with material handling devices catalogues, GA drawings for deck crane,

monorail trolley hoist, pad eye/pulling eye, shackle, slings, chain hoist, skates,

cart, trolley, etc.

3. Participate in model reviews 30%, 60% & 90% and supplier package reviews.

4. Preparation of material handling routes/layout.

5. Review of Vendor Drawings / Documents for static and rotating equipment like

Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Fans, Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchanges, Filters,

etc.

6. Participates in the preparation of equipment lists.

7. Co-ordination with other disciplines, customer, supplier, and site for interface

engineering

Desired Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience

1. Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in engineering or related technical field.

2. At least 13 - 20 years of experience in Detailed Design in Oil & Gas for material

handling.

3. Software knowledge Navisworks, AutoCAD, MS office, PDF, etc.

4. Experience in packages like Gas Turbine Combine Cycle, Compressor packages,

Chemical Injection packages, Electro chlorination, etc.

5. Good communication skills in English (written and oral)

6. Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

7. Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative.

8. Ability to work independently with clarity on scope and responsibility.
