Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The post holder will work alongside the Mechanical Maintenance team and will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of a wide range of mechanical plant, equipment, and systems across the University. This will be under the direction of the Maintenance Manager (Mechanical) and/or a delegated Supervisor, ensuring that University buildings remain operational to support the delivery of core business functions.

Key responsibilities include carrying out reactive, planned, and cyclical maintenance works as directed by the Maintenance Manager (Mechanical), Maintenance Supervisor(s), or via the maintenance management system (PLANON). The post holder will update and report task progress through the mobile workflow system (PLANON), ensuring work tickets are fully completed and closed promptly, while proactively identifying and reporting defects when moving between tasks or buildings.
