MEDIA MANAGER
The Media Manager role is a 3-division position across Fashion, Fragrance and Beauty, and Watches and Fine Jewelry along with ownership of media for chanel.com (ecommerce ecosystem).
Media Manager will own the end-to-end paid media ecosystem, from strategy to execution, from investment to performance, from partnerships to governance. You ensure that every media choice serves both the strength of the CHANEL brand and the delivery of business outcomes.
In this role, within Digital, CRM and Media Department, you will define the overarching media strategies within the paid, owned and earned framework, ensuring full-funnel impact. You will be accountable for overseeing the delivery of integrated media campaigns, linking business objectives to outcomes. You will govern budget and processes with a commitment to compliance, transparency and return on spend. You balance the long-term equity of the House with commercial priorities, especially for ecommerce-driven media on chanel.com.
You will preserve the relationships with cross-functional and divisional stakeholders at a local, regional and global level. You will be the custodian of the Media Agency partnership and responsible for performance.
You will champion innovation and creativity. You will serve as a resource of intelligence for media and related dynamics.
THE IMPACT YOU ARE CREATING AT CHANEL
Media
- Create a roadmap to evolve media capabilities to drive innovation and scale best practice
- Lead annual planning with the support of the Head of Digital, CRM & Media, grounded on sound media strategies that deliver on local priorities
- Orchestrate campaigns and design campaign briefs for optimal flighting and clarity in communications
- Maintain regular connection with Regional and Global Media to ensure strategic alignment, balancing local market relevance
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to aid in the development of strong media actions
- Oversee team workflow and processes for seamless implementation, execution and performance
- Set clear measures of success for output accuracy, timeliness and operational excellence
- Evaluate outcomes to identify opportunities and direct future decisions
- Accelerate our CSR transformation with a focus on minimizing the impact of digital media
- Navigate and adapt to local and global market conditions / changes
- Oversee social monitoring activities to drive actionable data insights
- Drive relevant trending platform strategies
Brand
- Protect brand equity at the heart of every action
- Enhance vitality with dedicated programs of work across divisions
- Select campaign visuals to complement the respective media environment
People Engagement
- Manage the Media Agency teams for cohesion and high performance
- Interpret and distill pertinent information to management
- Engage with divisional stakeholders to align on campaign optimization and outcomes
- Nurture industry relationships with key partners
Commercial Acumen
- Regulate all financial and compliance processes with a focus on high risk areas such as data privacy and security
- Drive budget planning, tracking and auditing
- Complete the quarterly Business Reviews for advertising (media)
- Validate & Raise POs for advertising (media), agency fees and technical costs
- Meet frequently with Finance to ensure budget consistency across all forecasted activity
- Administer agency contracts and direct media agreements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Marketing/Communications or Media related majors
- Solid experience with track record in media strategy, performance media, planning and purchasing, integrated experience in working with a mix of traditional, digital media strategies. Experiences in retail industry (luxury sector) is preferable.
- Great analytic skills of data, be able to generate insights behind numbers
- Curious in the space of Fashion, and Luxury. Innovative and explorative, always stay at the forefront of the media trends and technologies.
- Experience in leading cross functional teams or global/region on the strategic programs
- Detailed oriented and with outstanding strategic planning skill with proven track record.
- Possess an innovative mindset, able to demonstrate out of the box thinking with the courage to experiment and test new ways of doing things.
- Strong presentation skills and able to articulate ideas from both himself/herself and others through effective presentation.
- Strong influencing skills along with an analytical and people-oriented mindset.
- Discipline in execution, upright with integrity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build a good relationship & partnership with people from different levels in the organization and with different styles.
