Work-from-Home Medical Billers (Philippines–US)


Overview: What Is a Medical Biller?


A medical biller manages insurance claims and payment processes for healthcare providers. They transform coded medical records into claims, submit these to insurers or government agencies, and handle all follow-up related to payments, denials, and patient billing. Medical billers are crucial in ensuring healthcare facilities receive timely and accurate payment for services.


Core Responsibilities:




  • Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies.




  • Check patient records and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.




  • Process bills and invoices for medical services rendered.




  • Track payment status, reconcile accounts, and follow up on outstanding balances.




  • Communicate with insurance companies to investigate and resolve denials or rejections.



  • Generate reports and maintain detailed billing records.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other privacy or security regulations.

Technology Setup for Remote Billers




  • Personal computer or laptop (recommended at least 8GB RAM) with updated security software.




  • Stable broadband internet (minimum 25 Mbps).




  • Access to medical billing software (such as those widely used in the US healthcare industry).
