Position Information:


WakeMed Health & Hospitals based in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a BC/BE Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for our inpatient psychiatry program. WakeMed serves a diverse patient population and embraces a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach to care. Our team currently consists of 8 Psychiatrists and 7 APPs and includes a team of behavior health specialists covering a 28-bed acute care facility., This is an opportunity for an individual interested in contributing to the development of care services in the region as you would be joining us during an exciting time of growth as we expand our psychiatric care to include a 150-bed inpatient psychiatric facility, which will be situated within an innovative whole health campus.

The Medical Director will partner with the Behavioral Health and Well Being Service Line Executive Leadership team in strategic planning for the division. This position will have both clinical and administrative responsibilities (.90 clinical/ .10 administrative) and will focus on local strategy, operational performance, and growth and development of the team. As a division leader, the Medical Director will work closely with other physician leaders, providers, nursing administration, and clinical teams, as well as recruiting, financial and marketing staff. The Medical Director will be expected to utilize a collaborative leadership style to develop the division in conjunction with our WakeMed Mission, Vision, and Values.
