Job Description

This contract nursing opportunity focuses on medical-surgical and neurological care in a well-equipped, supportive hospital environment. Located in the Arvada, CO area, this role offers the chance to contribute specialized skills in managing neuro patients while working alongside a dedicated and experienced team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing NIH and stroke neurological assessments
  • Monitoring seizure activity and managing respiratory support via BiPAP and CPAP devices
  • Providing tracheostomy care and overseeing feeding tubes
  • Conducting frequent fall risk evaluations and delivering high-quality med-surg nursing care
  • Collaborating with team members to maintain patient safety and comfort
  • Utilizing EMR systems for accurate documentation and communication

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Current RN license with a strong medical-surgical background
  • NIH stroke certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and neuro nursing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, positive team player dedicated to enhancing patient care

Work Schedule:

  • Night shift hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

About the Unit:This 38-bed neuro-med/surg unit maintains a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio under most conditions, emphasizing patient safety and high-quality care. Staff are experienced, collaborative, and supported by current clinical guidelines including neuro clinical practice protocols for stroke care. Advanced technology such as seizure monitoring and IV pumps supports patient treatment.
