Program Overview:
The Medical-Technical Radiology Assistant (MTRA) – Ausbildung Program offers Indian candidates a direct and structured pathway to a respected healthcare career in Germany through its globally recognized Duale Ausbildung (dual vocational training) system.
This program combines theoretical education at specialized vocational schools with paid, hands-on clinical training in hospitals and radiology centers across Germany. Participants are trained to operate advanced imaging technologies while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with strict radiation protection standards.
Upon successful completion, candidates receive a nationally recognized German qualification, enabling long-term employment, career advancement, and permanent residency opportunities within Germany’s robust healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities After Completion
Qualified MTRAs perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional radiology tasks, including:
· Preparing, performing, and following up on radiological examinations
· Conducting imaging procedures such as:
o X-ray diagnostics
o Computed Tomography (CT)
o Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
o Interventional radiology procedures
· Preparing patients by explaining procedures, reducing anxiety, and addressing concerns
· Operating, monitoring, and maintaining radiology and imaging equipment
· Ensuring strict compliance with radiation protection and safety regulations
· Documenting examinations, imaging results, and patient data accurately
· Assisting physicians during minimally invasive interventional procedures
· Monitoring patients during procedures and providing post-procedure care
· Participating in continuous professional training to stay updated with new technologies and methods
Work Environments:
MTRAs are employed across various healthcare settings, including:
· Hospitals and university clinics
· Radiology and imaging centers

· Rehabilitation and specialty medical facilities
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
Basic Admission Requirements
· Education:
o Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) / Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) or equivalent
· Age Limit:
o Not older than 30 years at the time of application
· Language Proficiency:
o German B2 level as per the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
· Intent:
o Strong motivation to settle, work, and integrate in Germany long term

Medical & Vaccination Requirements
As per §23a of the German Infection Protection Act, vaccinations for healthcare staff are mandatory. These may include:

· COVID-19 (subject to employer requirements)
