Job Description

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer is primarily responsible for the design, integration, installation, and quality control of mechanical and electrical systems related to control panels, distribution panels, LT/HT panels, PLC panels, and automation systems. They ensure that all MEP aspects of panel production are aligned with project requirements and industry standards.

Design electrical layouts, wiring schematics, and power/control circuit diagrams for panels.

Select appropriate electrical components like breakers, contactors, relays, busbars, and meters.

Supervise the assembly, wiring, and interconnection of electrical panels.

Perform load calculations and ensure proper sizing of cables, fuses, and switchgear.

Ensure proper design and integration of enclosures, panel structures, cooling systems (like panel fans, AC units), and mounting hardware.

Check for appropriate IP ratings, panel dimensions, and component arrangements as per project needs.

Support in structural design if mechanical support frames or busbar supports are required.

Ensure all panels comply with relevant standards such as IEC, IS, or UL.

Conduct routine and final testing like:

Insulation resistance testing

High voltage test (HiPot)

Continuity testing

Functional testing of control logic

Prepare test reports and quality documentation.

Implement and monitor safety standards during the panel assembly and testing phases.

Ensure proper grounding, labeling, and enclosure safety according to electrical safety norms.
