Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with engineers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and client representatives to ensure project objectives are met from commencement through completion.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all contractual documentation, including the main contract, drawings, specifications, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Lead, manage, and develop MEP personnel, contributing to performance reviews and professional growth.
  • Direct the day-to-day activities of MEP engineering and site supervision staff, including all direct reports.
  • Take overall responsibility for MEP procurement, budgeting, quality assurance, safety, engineering, coordination, scheduling, installation, commissioning, and project close-out.
  • Guide the MEP project team, specialist contractors, and client-appointed consultants to ensure effective coordination and efficient system delivery.
  • Prepare and administer contract packages for materials, equipment, and systems, ensuring all milestones align with the approved project programme.
  • Attend programme review meetings and provide current, accurate information to support schedule updates.
  • Oversee the processing of RFIs and submittals by the MEP engineering team.
  • Control the MEP budget, including the assessment, negotiation, and approval of change orders, while maintaining awareness of subcontractor financial status.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, mentoring, and coaching to MEP engineers.
  • Jointly manage the MEP coordination process with the digital construction team to ensure installations meet design intent, operational requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Develop detailed scopes of work clearly defining trade responsibilities, including temporary systems where required.
  • Collaborate with site management to resolve coordination issues between mechanical and electrical services and site logistics while maintaining programme compliance.
  • Share responsibility for the full handover process, including system start-up, testing, commissioning, and final close-out activities.
  • Carry out routine site inspections with MEP staff to confirm works comply with contract documents, coordination models, and approved submittals.
  • Proactively identify complex installation challenges and communicate them to site teams in advance to support effective planning.
  • Manage and obtain all required statutory approvals and documentation for temporary certification and system operation.
  • Develop and implement the MEP quality control plan in collaboration with site leadership


Requirements

  • Prior experience within either a mechanical or electrical discipline ideally with data centre experience
  • Strong technical capability combined with excellent organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage priorities and perform effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness and a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Maintains a high level of responsibility, ownership, and accountability.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish language skills are highly advantageous.
