Job Description
Role Purpose:
The MEP Engineer – PHE & Fire Fighting will manage the design, execution, and commissioning of all plumbing, public health engineering, and fire fighting systems for hospital projects across India. The role ensures technical excellence, statutory compliance, quality control, and successful system handover.
Experience: 12+ years (minimum 5 years in hospital projects in India)
Education: B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Preferred Industry: Candidates with prior experience in hospital construction projects are strongly preferred
Key Deliverables:
- Review, validate, and approve detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for PHE and fire fighting systems.
- Ensure compliance with National Building Code (NBC), NFPA, and local fire regulations.
- Oversee material selection, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of all PHE and fire fighting systems.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to optimize system routing and execution.
- Monitor contractor performance, project schedules, budgets, and QA/QC standards.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and government approvals.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes, hydraulic calculations, and fire safety standards (NBC, NFPA, local fire regulations)
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and MS Office applications
- Experience in pre- and post-construction statutory approvals for PHE and fire systems
- Strong understanding of hospital-specific systems: water treatment, drainage, sewage, stormwater management, hot water systems, RO distributions, and medical fire suppression
