Job Description
**Overview**
Element has an opportunity for a **Metallurgical Test Technician** in our Wixom, MI lab to safely perform testing in accordance with established SOP and QA procedures conducting Material and Metallurgical Testing within the laboratory.
**Responsibilities**
+ Preparation of test samples by sectioning with precision abrasive saws
+ Mounting/grinding/polishing of specimens
+ Hardness testing: Vickers and Knoop
+ Macro and micro photography
+ Basic metallurgical testing: coating thickness, case depth, image analysis, etc
+ Summarizes test results using basic mathematical calculations and data reductions
+ Testing is conducted on many alloys including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, titanium, copper, etc.
+ Maintain related test equipment, tools and machinery in good working condition
**Skills / Qualifications**
+ 1-2 years in the TIC sector is preferred, but not required
