Job Description

Metallurgy & WeldingTechnologies Engineer executes, according to safety and cost-effectivenesscriteria, contractual requirements and International Codes and Standards, theactivities relevant to define the prescriptions for testing and fabrication of piping and equipments.

Key Activities &Responsibilities:

  • He/She applies internationalcodes & standards ASME, API, ASTM, EN, NACE, AWS, ETC., for materials ofconstruction and related fabrication for chemical, petrochemical, power and oil& gas industry.
  • Provides technical support onmetallurgical issues during design, procurement, testing and fabrication.Reviews client specifications and prepares engineering and fabricationspecifications based on client requirements and industrial codes and standards.
  • Reviews welding and heattreatments procedures, material specifications, mill test reports, equipmentspecifications and data sheets for compliance with project requirements.
  • Investigates and resolves issueson metallurgy, materials, testing and welding arising from clients, suppliersand contractors either in vendor shops or at site during plant fabrication.
  • Coordinates, when necessary, thespecialized laboratory for performing failure analysis on materials andwelding.
  •   Personal Attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years in Metallurgicaland Welding Engineering related occupation. Certification IWE/EWE / IWT/EWT arealso appreciated.
  • Metallurgical and Weldingbackground with knowledge of material selection and corrosion mitigation forpiping, equipment, steel structures, etc., for application in petrochemical,power and oil & gas industry.
  • Fluent English speaker and writer.
  • Availability to travel for shortand long period in Italy and abroad.
