Background

i) Educational Qualification

Desirable:  B.E. (Mechanical); IIT / NIT

- Conversant with Hot forging & cold forging and

- Gear machining - CNC/ VMC/ Broaching / Hobbing, Shaping

- Gear Shaving, Teeth grinding & teeth honing and bore honing.

- Basic knowledge of Heat Treatment for Gears & shafts.

ii) Experience

Minimum: 7 years

Maximum: 12 years

iii) Age Limit

Minimum: 27 years

Maximum: 34 years

Job Role & Responsibilities

Role:  Component Development of Transmission Gears & shafts.

Responsibilities:

Development of Gears, Shafts, and transmission assemblies with Vendors.

  • Drawing study & Manufacturability points closure with R&D
  • Process planning
  • Fixture, Tools, gauges selection & planning
  • Prepare process sheets, conduct trials and development of samples including troubleshooting
  • Cycle time estimations & Capacity readiness as per Business plan
  • Quality problem solving & process improvement
  • Monitoring for first 3 months

    Competency Requirements

    Technical/ Functional:

  • Hands on experience with processes –

    • Hot forging, Cold forging, Gear machining – CNC, VMC, Broaching, Hobbing, Shaping, Gear Shaving, Teeth grinding, teeth honing, bore honing and Basic knowledge of Heat Treatment for Gears & shafts

  • Gear microgeometry interpretation & problem solving
  • AutoCad, Uni graphics, Forging simulation (ForgeNXT), KISSsoft for gear evaluation
  • Selection and approval of fixture, gauges and tools
  • CNC programming, Cycle time estimation & cost sheet preparation
  • Conversant with latest trends in Gear manufacturing

    Good communication and presentation skills and proven ability to interact with cross functional teams.
