Role Overview
The Research Microbiologist will be responsible for ensuring product safety, microbiological quality, and compliance for New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) across cosmetic, skincare, body care, and personal care categories. The role involves microbiological testing, method development, preservative efficacy evaluation, and supporting manufacturing through strong quality and compliance frameworks.
Roles & Responsibilities
Conduct routine and advanced microbiological testing of raw materials, bulk, finished products, and packaging components.
Perform Preservative Efficacy Testing (PET / Challenge Test) , microbial limit testing, and contamination analysis as per regulatory standards.
Support NPD & EPD projects by providing microbiological validation during formulation development, pilot, and scale-up stages.
Develop and validate microbiological test methods, SOPs, and protocols in alignment with global standards.
Monitor environmental hygiene and maintain microbiological control for manufacturing facilities where required.
Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation for audits, approvals, and regulatory submissions.
Coordinate closely with formulation, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure safe and compliant product delivery.
Stay updated with emerging microbiological risks, technologies, regulatory updates, and testing advancements.
Demonstrate strong organizational discipline, ability to handle multiple projects, and adherence to timelines.
