Rite-Solutions, Inc., is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-level or Senior Software Engineer on-site at the Boeing Company facility in Huntington Beach, CA. We are looking for a talented, motivated and team-oriented engineer with six (6) or more years of experience to work on US Navy's Extra-Large Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (XLUUV) program as part of the Software Support Activity (SSA) tasking led by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport RI (NUWVDIVNPT). This position will entail working remotely at the XLUUV Prime Contractor's facility to prepare for and facilitate transfer of software system support to NUWCDIVNPT, as part of a team of software and system engineers working together to sustain and maintain source code, integrate and test functionality, integrate new functionality, and develop processes for continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) of system software capability for Fleet users. Position requires US Citizenship and an active Secret-level security clearance with the US Government.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Work as a software engineer embedded with the XLUUV Prime Contractor, Boeing, in their Huntington Beach CA facility, as a remote member of NUWCDIVNPT's SSA team.
+ Partner with the NUWCDIVNPT Code 45 team to understand, build, integrate and conduct test and evaluation of XLUUV system software delivered with the vehicles.
+ Develop, evaluate, and conduct integration testing of XLUUV system software leveraging your perspective as an embedded contractor within the Boeing XLUUV facility.
+ Communicate regularly with functional team leads to ensure effective work partnerships.
+ The opportunity exists to grow into a technical leadership role.
Requirements
+ Minimum 6 years of Software Development experience
+ BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field
+ Experience with high level programming languages, e.g. C/C++, Ada, Java, and scripting languages (bash, tcsh/csh)
+ Solid command of object-oriented software development
+ Experience with development in Linux-based environments
+ Experience with software configuration control, version control and build tools and processes
+ Experience with Continuous Integration using GitLab or Jenkins.
+ Ability to work independently is essential.
+ Strong problem solving, application testing, and debugging capabilities
+ Working knowledge of basic networking and network protocols
+ Familiar with agile and/or traditional software development life cycle (SDLC) approaches
+ Effective written and verbal skills
+ Able to work and thrive in both individual and team-based development environments
+ U.S. Citizenship and Active or Interim DoD SECRET clearance
Additional Skills of Interest (not required but highly desired):
+ Experience developing/maintaining using the Ada programming language
+ Linux system administration as part of software development
+ Experience presenting to stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership
