With nearly 6,000 employees, the Byrnecut Group is a full-service underground mining contractor, providing services to major mine owners throughout Australia and Internationally. We operate a multi-million dollar fleet of specialised underground mining equipment across multiple continents and conditions.

About the Program:

We are seeking passionate Mining Engineering students to join our 2026/27 Summer Vacation Program. Over 12 weeks, students will have the chance to apply their academic knowledge in a dynamic underground mining environment, working alongside experienced operators and leaders at one of our mine sites across Australia.

Our Vacation Program offers an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and build professional relationships with colleagues and clients. Designed as a pathway into our Graduate Mining Engineer Program, we encourage students to apply if they are interested in transitioning into a Graduate role at Byrnecut after completing their degree. The time spent in the Vacation Program can contribute towards the 24-month Graduate Program.

What You Need:

To be eligible for our Vacation Program, you must need the following requirements:

  • Availability to commence work in late November 2026.
  • Full working rights within Australia or relevant Visa
  • Studying Mining Engineering degree
  • Hold a valid Manual Driver’s License
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • A genuine enthusiasm to engage in various roles throughout the program

The successful candidates will be required to meet our pre-employment criteria including drug and alcohol screening prior to an Offer of Employment being made.
