Mining Senior Official (Undermanager) – Aquila Mine

Reporting to the Underground Mine Manager, the Mining Senior Official is responsible for the coordination of shift activities to ensure safe working conditions for all personnel at our Aquila Mine.

  • While driving planned work within the mine, you will monitor, consult and make decisions to ensure the Operations teams’ production and maintenance targets are delivered safely and ensure statutory responsibilities are fulfilled.
  • You will use your leadership skills and knowledges to lead and mentor deputies and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and to deliver operational excellence.
  • Your proactive approach to safety and commitment to achieving Zero Harm will be the key to your success in this role.
    • Qualifications:
  • The successful applicant will possess a 3rd Class Deputy Certificate of Competency with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the underground coal mining industry and experience in leading a team.
  • Person’s with a 2nd Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency, or studying to achieve it, are encouraged to apply.
  • A Queensland coal mining statutory qualification (Queensland 3rd class Deputy Certification or equivalent) and S1, S2, S3 and G2 Supervisor qualifications will be highly regarded for this position
  • Must have Current QLD practicing certificate.
