Mining Specialist

<p>The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the Indian mining landscape, including regulatory requirements, resource evaluation, extraction techniques, and production processes. Experience with minerals used in solar manufacturing-such as silica sand, quartz, and other solar-grade raw materials-will be considered a strong advantage.<br/><br/>Key Responsibilities<br/><br/>- Lead and oversee the development, preparation, and execution of mining plans, including mine design, scheduling, production planning, and resource optimization.<br/><br/>- Conduct geological assessments, feasibility studies, and reserve evaluations for various mineral deposits.<br/><br/>- Manage end-to-end mining operations including exploration, extraction, processing, and product quality assurance.<br/><br/>- Ensure compliance with Indian mining laws, environmental regulations, and sustainability standards.<br/><br/>- Optimize mining processes for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.<br/><br/>- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as engineering, geology, production, and HSE departments.<br/><br/>- Maintain detailed documentation, technical reports, and production records.<br/><br/>- Drive continuous improvement and adopt new technologies in mineral extraction and processing.<br/><br/>- (Preferred Advantage) Provide expertise in minerals essential for solar panel manufacturing, especially silica sand, quartz, and other solar-grade inputs.<br/><br/>- Support procurement and quality evaluation of raw materials for renewable-energy-related projects.<br/><br/>- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mineral Engineering, or related field.<br/><br/>- 10+ years of experience in mining operations, mine planning, and mineral product life-cycle management.<br/><br/>- Strong knowledge of Indian mining regulations, statutory requirements, and government compliance procedures.<br/><br/>- Proven experience in mine design software (e.g., Surpac, Minex, Datamine, or similar).<br/><br/>- Deep understanding of processing and beneficiation techniques across mining commodities.<br/><br/>- Hands-on experience managing mining sites, production teams, and technical contractors.<br/><br/>- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project-management skills.<br/><br/>Preferred / Additional Skills<br/><br/>- Knowledge of minerals used in solar PV manufacturing (silica sand, quartz, feldspar, etc.).<br/><br/>- Experience working on mining projects associated with renewable energy or solar value chains.<br/><br/>- Familiarity with international quality standards for solar-grade raw materials.<br/><br/>- Strong communication and stakeholder-coordination abilities.</p> (ref:iimjobs.com)
