<p>Role Summary</p> <p>This job takes a lead role in providing highly complex application development services, primarily focusing on MS SQL Server and SSIS, as part of a project team. Senior Consultants analyze, design, code, test, and implement advanced systematic solutions to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies. This role involves significant expertise in data translation and transformation, particularly within healthcare payer systems. Senior Consultants provide expert-level support to maintain complex applications, ensuring they meet the service levels, system availability, performance, and quality levels required by their customers. This position will be instrumental in mentoring less experienced team members and driving technical excellence.</p> <p> </p> <p>Essential Responsibilities</p> <p> Lead the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of highly complex application enhancements and new developments, ensuring alignment with defined scope, target dates, and budgets with minimal or no defects.</p> <p> Drive and participate in the full system development life cycle (SDLC), adhering to current Highmark SDLC standards.</p> <p> Collaborate extensively with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to elicit and understand complex business requirements that drive the analysis and design of high-quality technical solutions.</p> <p> Concentrate on providing innovative and optimal solutions to highly complex business needs, particularly those involving large-scale data processing and integration.</p> <p> Provide expert-level technical support, including leading release implementations, on-call support, and incident resolution as required.</p> <p> Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with Highmark and Highmark IT standards, policies, and procedures.</p> <p> Effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including team members, customers, partners, and senior management, through technical walkthroughs, project status reporting, vendor solution evaluations, and precise documentation.</p> <p> Develop robust and efficient ETL processes for data translation and transformation using MS SSIS</p> <p> Lead efforts in optimizing database performance, troubleshooting complex PL/SQL issues, and ensuring data integrity and security.</p> <p> Mentor junior and mid-level developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and best practice recommendations.</p> <p> </p> <p>Required Skills</p> <p> 8-12 years of relevant experience in PL/SQL development on MS SQL Server</p> <p> Proven expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.</p> <p> In-depth knowledge of advanced SQL querying (including performance tuning).</p> <p> Extensive experience with data translation and transformation, including designing and implementing ETL processes, preferably using SSIS.</p> <p> Preferably having experience of working with healthcare payer systems, particularly with benefits configuration.</p> <p> Demonstrated ability to perform problem-solving, root cause analysis, and provide effective issue resolution for complex technical challenges.</p> <p> Exceptional leadership and team working skills, with a track record of mentoring and guiding other developers.</p> <p> Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.</p> <p> Familiarity with MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)</p> <p> </p> <p>Good to Have</p> <p> Experience with other database technologies (e.g., Oracle).</p> <p> Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies.</p> <p> Knowledge of the US Healthcare system, preferably on benefits configuration.</p>
