Multi-Modality Technologist –  Full-time, 7pm-7am Wed-Fri

**Eligible for a $K Sign On Bonus**

The Multi-Modality Technologist assists physicians and performs MRI and/or CT and radiological, paramedical, and clerical duties required in the care and assistance of patients. Works under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, Lead MRI/CT Tech and physicians. Is primarily responsible for helping with the daily operations of the MRI or CT and Radiology departments.

Duties:

  • Prepares room, equipment, contrast media and materials as needed for procedures.
  • Maintains clean and stocked procedure room on a daily basis.
  • Properly warms CT equipment daily, and assures equipment is working properly.
  • If equipment is not functioning properly, notifies appropriate person.
  • Prepares patient for CT and Radiology procedures – explains procedure, transfers patient to examination table, positions patient correctly, and assists patient at end of procedure.
  • Labels scans appropriately and uses proper patient ID on film prior to development of film
  • Performs general clerical, file room, darkroom, and transportation duties when needed to fulfill the workload of the department.
  • Practices patient care according to ARMC policy.
  • Assists Radiologists during procedures and takes scans as requested
  • Knowledgeable in proper sequence of scheduling exams for the entire Radiology department.
  • Considers age-related factors in obtaining images or performing diagnostic or therapeutic imaging studies. Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
  • Regularly accepts additional work during period of low patient activity and demonstrates a willingness to assist others within the department as requested.
  • Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all data, records, forms, reports, procedures and any other information regarding customer relations of Aiken Regional Medical Centers % of the time.
  • Must know and implement radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment % of the time
  • Responsible for reading and reviewing all material in department manuals annually.
  • Responsible for ensuring that patient charges are given to the appropriate person to be entered into RMS in a timely manner and that the charges are accurate.
  • Responsible for knowing and maintaining the measures described in the Universal Protocol policy.
  • Send images to PACS appropriately and verify all are available for interpretation in a timely manner.
  • Must know and implement radiation safety procedures when working with radiation producing equipment.
  • Knows proper method of using CT power injector.
  • Rotates to other imaging departments as needed; participates in holiday and on-call rotation requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    Education : Successful completion of a radiological program or equivalent military training

    Experience: One year of experience in two or more modalities with an external organization or successful completion of facility training and orientation required.

    License or Registration Requirements: Current South Carolina certificate issued by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification. BLS (or obtained within days of employment)
