Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior My SQL Database Administrator with strong experience in My SQL database management and Azure Cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, security, and scalability of My SQL databases across on-premise and Azure-hosted infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, manage, and support My SQL databases across production, staging, and development environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain My SQL databases on Azure (Azure VMs, Azure Storage, backups, and monitoring).
- Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning, including Azure-based DR strategies.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot My SQL replication (Master–Slave, GTID-based replication).
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, schema optimization, and My SQL configuration tuning.
- Monitor database health, capacity, and growth using Azure monitoring/logging tools.
- Ensure database security, access controls, encryption, and compliance best practices in Azure.
- Collaborate with application, Dev Ops, and infrastructure teams to support deployments, migrations, and issue resolution.
- Support cloud migration initiatives from on-premise My SQL to Azure where applicable.
- Document database architecture, procedures, and operational guidelines.
Skills Required
Primary Skills
- Strong hands-on experience as a My SQL DBA
- My SQL installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Backup & recovery strategies
- Replication (Master–Slave, GTID)
- Performance tuning & troubleshooting
Cloud & Secondary Skills (Good to Have / Preferred)
- Azure Cloud experience (My SQL on Azure VMs, storage, networking, monitoring)
- Exposure to Azure security best practices
- Scripting knowledge (Shell / Python) for automation
- Experience working with high-availability and DR setups
