n8n Developer / Automation Engineer

Job Description

5+ years (with hands-on experience in n8n workflow automation)

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced n8n Developer / Automation Engineer who has worked on building and maintaining automation workflows and system integrations using n8n. The role focuses on backend integrations, APIs, and workflow logic, not frontend UI development.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using n8n

Integrate third-party tools and internal systems using APIs and webhooks

Handle data transformation, mapping, and validation within workflows

Write custom JavaScript logic inside n8n when required

Build and manage triggers (webhooks, schedules, events)

Implement error handling, retries, and logging

Work with databases for read/write operations (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

Deploy, monitor, and maintain self-hosted n8n instances (Docker / Cloud)

Collaborate with backend, product, and business teams

Required Skills:

5+ years of overall experience in backend / integration / automation roles

Hands-on experience with n8n (must-have)

Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Webhooks, JSON

JavaScript for custom workflow logic

Experience with databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB)

Understanding of authentication (OAuth, API keys, tokens)

Experience with Docker and cloud deployment is a plus

Good to Have:

Experience with other automation tools (Zapier, Make, Airflow)

Knowledge of message queues or event-driven systems

Experience working in SaaS or startup environments

Note:

This role is not a frontend/UI developer role.

The focus is on automation, backend logic, and system integrations using n8n.
