**The Opportunity:**
CACI is looking for a Guidance, Navigation, Control, and Propulsion (GNCP) **Flight Software Verification Engineer** with Python and GNCP experience to perform software requirements verification for the Artemis 3 and future mission Orion Spacecraft Flight Software (FSW). This position involves implementing, executing, and evaluating results of Orion spacecraft FSW verification test cases and is located at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
Orion is NASA’s next generation crewed spacecraft that will rendezvous with the Human Landing System (HLS) in Lunar orbit during the Artemis 3 mission, the first crewed lunar landing since Apollo 17 in 1972. The HLS will transport astronauts to the surface of the moon. Future Artemis missions will rendezvous and dock with the Lunar Gateway station.
This position requires a self-motivated engineer possessing strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner. The individual must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Design, implement, execute, and analyze software tests to verify the GNCP FSW for the Orion spacecraft.
+ Collaborate with the verification team to ensure proper functionality of software with GNCP subsystems.
+ Use Python to automate test scripts and support software verification efforts.
+ Document test plans, actual results, and any issues with the FSW found during testing.
+ Collaborate with NASA and prime contractor SMEs for resolving GNCP issues.
This work takes place at NASA/JSC in Houston, TX, a highly stimulating and dynamic environment that is critical in human space flight and the space exploration initiative.
**Qualifications:**
_Required:_
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
+ B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.
+ Preferred strong experience working within the spacecraft GNCP software domain.
+ Preferred minimum of two years’ experience programming in Python.
+ Ability and attitude to learn a large, complex software system
+ Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.
+ Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic.
+ Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills.
_Desired:_
+ M.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Systems, or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.
+ Experience in avionics and flight software development and/or testing for human-rated space vehicle or satellites.
+ Experience with software configuration management tools such as Git and Subversion.
+ Familiarity with NASA's Orion spacecraft.
+ Experience or knowledge of space vehicle systems, e.g., avionics, command and telemetry, command and control, timeline/vehicle management, service module control, systems management, crew life support, displays, power, propulsion, thermal, guidance, navigation and control, communications and tracking, NASA Docking System, etc.

**Pay Range** : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
