Job Description
The National Contract Logistics Manager – Warehouse Management is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic direction, operational excellence, and commercial performance of Crane Worldwide Logistics’ contract logistics and warehousing operations across India.
This role will lead multi-site warehouse operations, drive standardisation and scalability, manage key customer relationships, and ensure safe, compliant, and profitable delivery of contract logistics solutions aligned with client contracts and business growth objectives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing strategic goals and objectives aligned with the organization's overall strategy.
- Develop and execute the national contract logistics and warehousing strategy in line with Crane Worldwide Logistics’ growth objectives in India.
- Design and implement scalable, compliant, and cost-effective warehouse and distribution solutions aligned with customer contracts and service offerings.
- Lead new site start-ups, expansions, transitions, and transformations across India, including automation and technology enablement where appropriate.
- Partner with Commercial, Solutions Design, and Operations teams to support tenders, RFQs, and new business implementations.
- Project Portfolio Management: Overseeing the selection, prioritization, and management of projects within the organization's portfolio. This includes evaluating project proposals, monitoring project progress, and ensuring projects are aligned with business objectives.
- Project Governance: Establishing and enforcing project management standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization. This involves defining project management processes, templates, and tools, as well as providing guidance and support to local team.
- Resource Management: Optimizing the allocation and utilization of resources (both human and financial) across projects. This includes assessing resource requirements, identifying skill gaps, and facilitating resource sharing and capacity planning.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Tracking and analyzing project performance metrics to ensure projects are on track and delivering expected outcomes. This involves generating regular reports and dashboards for stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and areas of concern.
- Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks. This includes developing risk management strategies.
Operations Management
- Provide overall leadership and governance for day-to-day warehouse operations, including storage, value-added services, transportation coordination, and last-mile interfaces where applicable.
- Ensure delivery against contractual KPIs, SLAs, productivity targets, and customer service metrics.
- Drive process standardisation, SOP governance, and continuous improvement using Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory, safety, and security requirements, including ISO standards, TAPA, customer compliance frameworks, and local labour laws.
Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the senior escalation point and executive sponsor for key national and strategic contract logistics customers.
- Build strong, long-term client partnerships through proactive engagement, governance forums, and performance reviews.
- Lead quarterly and annual business reviews (QBRs/ABRs), ensuring transparent reporting, issue resolution, and continuous value delivery.
- Collaborate with Sales and Account Management teams to support contract renewals, upsell opportunities, and service enhancements.
Financial & Commercial Management:
- Own the financial performance of national contract logistics operations, including revenue, cost control, margin improvement, and EBITDA delivery.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans for contract logistics operations.
- Monitor cost-to-serve, labour productivity, space utilisation, and operational efficiency across all sites.
- Ensure strong governance over capex proposals, investment cases, and return-on-investment (ROI) for warehouse infrastructure and automation projects.

Other Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience of managing complex multi-functional projects across a Regional Enterprise.
- Experience in GDP Warehousing and knowledge of GDP Regulations is desirable for this role.
- Experience in Managing Complex CL Implementations, across the India Sub-Continent Region
- Good knowledge and understanding of IT, specifically WMS
- Experience in LEAN, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement is desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, and presentation skills
- Demonstrable skills in coaching, motivating, team building and training
- Ability to develop and document processes and procedures
- Ability to handle multitasking and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Education and Experience:
- Minimum 12–15 years’ experience in contract logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations, with senior leadership responsibility at a national or multi-site level.
- Proven track record managing large-scale warehouse operations across multiple locations in India.
- Strong experience in P&L ownership, budgeting, and commercial performance management.
- Demonstrated success in client management, contract governance, and operational transformations.
