Job Description:

  • Setup and configure Netbackup server/client and tape libraries
  • Troubleshoot and resolve missed and failed Netbackup backups
  • Monitor daily Netbackup activity and reporting to proactively avoid issues
  • Modify and optimize backup schedules
  • Improve automation and productivity of backups through scripting enhancements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve missed and failed Netbackup backups
  • Interface with vendors for escalation of issues
  • Processing of tapes for offsite storage
  • Update Netbackup policies and procedures Monitor daily Netbackup activity and reporting to proactively avoid issues

  • Experience on tape drives and libraries
  • experience in Data Domain with VERITAS Netbackup / Any other Enterprise Level Backup Application
  • Good Hands on experience on De-duplication, Replication & Storage Life Cycle Policies Concepts
  • Experience in Configuring and troubleshooting of Storage Life Cycle policies
  • Good knowledge on Capacity Planning
  • Hands-on experience in implementation of Boost, OST & VTL solution
  • knowledge of managing and administering of Data Domain system
  • System administration experience on Windows, HPUX or Sun Solaris, and knowledge on VMware would be an added value.
  • Knowledge on ITIL processes like Incident management, Problem Management and Change Management processes.
  • Certification on Data Domain/Netbackup technology is an added advantage.
  • Acclimatized & cognizant of the process to log case & work with Vendor Support
  • Provide operational support on a 24x7 rotation basis.
