Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer - Checkpoint (L3) to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in network security, firewall administration in Checkpoint specifically , routing & switching, wireless LAN management, and network monitoring tools. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting complex network environments to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

Network Security & Firewall Management

• Implement, configure, and manage enterprise firewalls such as Checkpoint and Fortinet.

• Perform WAF (Web Application Firewall) deployment, tuning, and incident response.

• Conduct firewall policy reviews, upgrades, and security posture assessments.

• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced firewall, VPN, and traffic inspection issues.

• Manage multi-vendor firewall environments and ensure consistent security policies.

Routing & Switching

• Design and maintain scalable LAN/WAN networks with high availability.

• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2 switching technologies (VLANs, STP, trunking).

• Perform capacity planning, network performance optimization, and fault isolation.

Wireless LAN & Controller Management

• Deploy and manage Wireless Access Points (APs) and Wireless Controllers.

• Optimize WLAN coverage, authentication, and security configurations.

• Conduct wireless site surveys and performance analysis.

Network Monitoring & Tools Deployment

• Implement and manage network monitoring tools for proactive fault detection and capacity planning (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).

• Develop dashboards, alerts, and reports for network performance and uptime.

• Lead initiatives for network automation and tool integration. Troubleshooting & Escalation Support

• Provide L3-level support for escalated network incidents and outages.

• Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and resolution.

• Create and maintain detailed network documentation, change logs, and topology diagrams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise networking and security.

• Strong expertise in Checkpoint firewalls (implementation, management, troubleshooting).

• Hands on experience on WAF (Web Application Firewalls).

• Solid understanding of Routing & Switching (Cisco/Juniper/Aruba preferred).

• Experience in Wireless LAN management including APs, controllers, and WLAN security.

• Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix).

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex network environments.

• Understanding of network security principles, VPNs, NAT, and intrusion prevention systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications:

o CCNP / CCIE (Cisco)

o Fortinet NSE4+

o Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE

o Aruba / CWNA (Wireless)
