Under general supervision, performs tasks associated with the construction, operation, maintenance, restoration, and testing of underground transmission and distribution facilities to ensure uninterrupted, dependable service is provided to customers. Job requires general knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the construction and maintenance of underground transmission and distribution facilities, sufficient to perform a range of varied, non-routine skill craft activities at the journeymen level. Procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines are available requiring judgment in locating and selecting the most appropriate methods, techniques and procedures to apply to specific cases.
