**Role Overview-**
We are seeking a **Network & Security Engineer** with strong hands-on experience in **design, build, and delivery** of enterprise network and security solutions. This role is part of a technical delivery team supporting multiple customer projects across network and security domains, starting with a major mining customer.
The role is **engineering-led** , with a strong emphasis on **design, implementation, and transformation** . The ideal candidate enjoys working close to the technology, translating design intent into working solutions, and operating across varied project contexts.
**Key Responsibilities-**
+ Design, implement, and deliver **network and security solutions** across enterprise environments.
+ Perform **engineering-level design activities** , including:
+ High-level designs (HLDs)
+ Detailed designs (LLDs)
+ Configuration standards and build templates
+ Design validation and technical assurance
+ Assess existing **network and security implementations** , identifying inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
+ Engineer and optimise **network security controls** , including:
+ Segmentation and zoning models
+ Firewall and access control rulebases
+ Policy structure, naming, and hierarchy
+ Execute **network and security migrations and transformations** , such as:
+ Legacy platform uplift or consolidation
+ Policy re-design and rulebase clean-up
+ L3/L4 designs evolving toward application-aware security models
+ Work with **enterprise-scale environments** , potentially involving:
+ Multiple sites or regions
+ Large rulebases and complex network topologies
+ Produce clear, high-quality **engineering documentation** .
+ Collaborate closely with:
+ Other network and security engineers
+ Technical leads and solution designers
+ Project managers and delivery teams
+ Support multiple project engagements while maintaining consistency and engineering quality.
**Required Skills & Experience**
+ **8+ yearsβ experience** in hands-on **network and/or network security engineering** roles.
+ Strong practical experience with:
+ Enterprise networking (routing, switching, segmentation)
+ Network security technologies (firewalls, policy enforcement, access controls)
+ Proven ability to **design and implement** secure, scalable network solutions.
+ Strong understanding of:
+ Zone-based security models
+ Policy design and rulebase structure
+ Network segmentation principles
+ Experience working in **project delivery environments** , contributing directly to build and implementation activities.
+ Comfortable working with **existing environments** , understanding constraints, and improving them pragmatically.
+ Strong **technical documentation skills** , with the ability to clearly articulate designs and configurations.
**Highly Desirable Skills**
+ Experience with **major network and security vendors** (e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, etc.).
+ Exposure to **cloud networking and security** , particularly where it intersects with enterprise networks.
+ Experience with **automation or scripting** (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Python) to support repeatable builds or policy management.
+ Experience using **migration or assessment tools** for network or firewall transformations.
+ Relevant **network, security, or platform certifications** .
