The NOC Engineer is responsible for
· Monitor network and Server alerts using NOC tools (24x7 shift support)
· Perform L1 troubleshooting for network, firewall, Windows server related incidents
· Monitor and manage firewalls, VPNs, and security devices
· Respond to alerts related to:
- Firewall health & traffic
- Network latency, packet loss, outages
- Security threats and policy violations
· Perform basic firewall tasks:
- Rule validation and implementation (as per SOP)
- VPN monitoring and basic troubleshooting
· Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams with proper documentation
· Follow incident, problem, and change management processes
· Maintain accurate ticket updates and shift handover notes
· Ensure SLA adherence and timely incident resolution
· Support routine checks, backups, and compliance monitoring
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILL SET:
· Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing & Switching
· Knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPN, NAT
· Hands-on exposure to firewalls such as:
o Palo Alto
o Fortinet
o Cisco ASA / Firepower
· Understanding of:
o Firewall rules & policies
o IDS/IPS concepts
o VPN (Site-to-Site & Remote Access)
o Network security fundamentals
