Job Description
Role Overview:
Lead end to end new product introduction (NPI) for Integrated system packages (SiP/ISP) and associated PCBA assemblies, ensuring seamless transition from concept to high volume production with focus on performance, quality, reliability, cost and time to market.
Key Responsibilities:
NPI Program Execution
- Own ISP NPI projects from customer handoff to mass production.
- Drive stage gate NPI execution
- Concept à Eng validation test à Design validation test à Product validation Test à HVM
- Ensure alignment between package level and board level readiness.
- Manage multiple complex NPI programs simultaneously.
PCBA & System Integration Oversight
- Own PCBA NPI readiness in collaboration with SMEs/Process Engineers.
- Drive DFM/DFA reviews for SMT, Testing, Coating, Pin insertion and Box Assembly.
- Ensure compatibility between SiP, Modules, ICs land patterns, PCB layout and reflow profiles.
- Oversee board level bring up, functional testing and failure analysis.
- Ensure system level performance and reliability targets are met.
Yield, Reliability and Quality
- Own early yield ramp for PCBA processes.
- Lead root cause analysis for Package induced failures, SMT defects, board level escapees and field failures.
- Drive qualification and reliability testing (JEDEC, Boad level reliability, Environmental and system stress testing.)
- Ensure zero critical quality escapes at launch.
Cost, Schedule & Risk Management.
- Manage NPI cost models (BOM, PCBA Process and Test cycle time)
- Identify NPI risks early and drive mitigation plans.
- Identify technical, supplier and capacity risks early.
Customer & Stakeholder Communication.
- Serve as technical NPI focal point for customers.
- Present NPI status, Yield, risks and qualification readiness.
- Support customer audits and technical reviews.
Key Deliverables & KPI
- On time product launch.
- First pass yield and ramp to volume timeline.
- Qualification success rate
- Cost to target achievement
- Customer satisfaction during NPI phase.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor / master in related Engineering Discipline (Preferred Mechanical, Electronics)
- 10-15 years’ experience in EMS industry.
- Hands on knowledge of ISP assembly flows, CTQ, Screen print, Pick and Place , Reflow, Pin insertion, coating and box assembly).
- Proven NPI ownership across module and board levels.
- Strong project management and cross functional leadership skills. (Preferred. PMP training/certification).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Automotive, Network, Aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with SPC, JMP/Minitab, DOE and Yield analytics.
- Experience working with global EMS companies.
