The Structural Sales Engineer serves as the technical liaison between clients and the company's engineering and sales teams. This role combines in-depth structural engineering knowledge with strong sales and communication skills to identify customer needs, provide engineered solutions, and drive revenue growth. The Structural Sales Engineer is responsible for developing new business opportunities, supporting project bids, and ensuring the technical accuracy and feasibility of proposed solutions.

ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Identify, pursue, and develop relationships with new and existing clients in target markets.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and quotations tailored to customer requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop pricing strategies, sales forecasts, and market plans.
- Support negotiations and close deals that meet profitability and technical standards.
Technical Engineering Support
- Analyse project specifications, drawings, and structural requirements to design and propose appropriate solutions.
- Provide technical expertise to internal teams and customers during the proposal, design, and implementation phases.
- Work closely with the design and engineering departments to ensure structural integrity, compliance, and cost effectiveness of proposed systems.
- Review and interpret engineering documentation, ensuring all designs adhere to industry codes, standards, and best practices.
Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the main point of contact for technical and commercial discussions with clients.
- Provide post sale support and technical assistance as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through prompt communication and solution oriented service.
- Coordinate with cross functional teams including engineering, project management, and production.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, project opportunities, and customer communications using CRM tools.
- Report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to management.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is an asset.
Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 2 years in a client facing or sales engineering role.
- Proven track record in technical sales, business development, or solution selling in the construction, structural, or manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with structural analysis software and CAD tools.
- Demonstrate understanding of the project market and industry.
