The Role
You will lead day-to-day production operations and provide senior technical oversight to ensure high-integrity facility performance across NT onshore assets, with interface management for relevant offshore/coastal activities. The role involves regular travel to operational sites for inspections, team engagement and technical assurance. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend availability required to support operational or critical response needs. This is a Darwin based position with routine travel to operational sites and facilities, a fulltime -permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Senior technical leadership of hydrocarbon production operations and facilities
- Oversight of production performance, facility integrity, maintenance, engineering and projects
- Ensuring full regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on NT onshore petroleum regulations and NOPSEMA interfaces where applicable
- Leadership of safety case operations and process safety management in high-hazard environments
- Management of emergency response activities and operational readiness
- Building strong relationships with regulators, clients, internal teams and external stakeholders
- Driving operational efficiency, production optimisation and continuous improvement
- Supporting budgeting, financial reporting, analytics and business planning
- Leading and developing operational workforces, including industrial relations and enterprise agreement management
Qualifications And Experience Required
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in hydrocarbon production operations management (onshore preferred, offshore advantageous), with deep expertise in process safety, facility operations and regulatory compliance.
- Engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or similar) or equivalent technical qualification (Cert III Process Plant or higher), with proven experience operating facilities under a safety case framework.
- A credible, decisive leader with strong commercial acumen, demonstrated emergency response capability, and experience in budgeting, analytics and business planning.
