The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is a Non-Departmental Public Body sponsored by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Established under the Energy Act 2004, the NDA is responsible for the long-term stewardship of the United Kingdom’s nuclear legacy and for delivering a mission that is fundamental to national safety, environmental protection and public confidence in nuclear.

The NDA Group brings together the NDA and four operating companies: Sellafield Ltd, Nuclear Restoration Services, Nuclear Waste Services and Nuclear Transport Solutions. Collectively, the Group employs approximately 19,000 people and manages 17 nuclear sites across the United Kingdom, including Sellafield and Dounreay, some of the most complex and hazardous nuclear facilities in Europe.
