Nuit Blanche Toronto

Nuit Blanche, Toronto’s all-night contemporary event, returns on Saturday, September 23, 2023, and will focus on the theme of Breaking Ground.

There are two programs open to artists: the Independent Project and Open Call Program. Proposals for each program must respond to the annual theme and be located in one of the identified key neighbourhoods. Projects are selected based on artistic merit, feasibility and relation to the theme.

Independent Projects are self-produced, self-funded works that form part of Nuit Blanche Toronto. The projects activate and transform traditional and non-traditional art spaces across the city, which may include the public realm, parks, galleries, storefronts, office towers, streets, sidewalks, etc.

Toronto-based artists, collectives, educational institutions and neighbourhood groups are encouraged to apply. Independent Projects must have a strong visual component, be rooted in contemporary art practices and respond to the event theme...
