Overview

The Nurse Manager is responsible for management of clinical services of the Urogynecology Division, within the Department of OBGYN. The Nurse Manager works closely with the Urogynecology Division Director, Urogynecology Practice Manager, and Department Administrator to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programs that enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction.

The Nurse Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations and oversight of the Urogynecology Division in both Norfolk and Virginia Beach. The Nurse Manager provides direction and manages professional employees and is accountable for the performance and results of a team within the framework of the OBGYN Department and EVMS Medical Group. 

Responsibilities

Position will be actively involved in daily clinical support functions to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare. These functions will include hands on support and oversight within the Urogynecology clinical operations at both the Norfolk and Virginia Beach locations, to include nursing, provider, and patient support and coordination throughout the day. Provide direct supervision of assigned Urogynecology clinical sible for the tracking, trending, and auditing of daily and monthly clinical performance related to operational metrics and quality measures, ensuring the team is working within their scope of practice and meeting all associated sible for talent identification, hiring, onboarding, and training for new team sible for coordination and distribution of clinical staff assignments and trate critical thinking skills needed for maintaining optimum clinical care and effective clinical workflow when faced with operational challenges such as provider and staffing shortages, emergency scheduling issues, electronic health record and telephone outages and other variables that frequently present within the clinical environment.

Proactively and continuously review all clinical schedules to identify potential issues impacting the flow of patients. Communicate well thought out solutions to alleviate or minimize the impact to work, staffing and patient fy gaps in performance of staff and provide counseling, training or performance improvement plans as needed. Develop measurable metrics to ensure performance standards are being met. Work the clinic floor as needed. 


Represent the Urogynecology clinical team during leadership meetings, trainings and development sessions.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Licensed Virginia RN (or LPNwith equivalent education and/or experience) is required.
Bachelor’s degree.
Three (3) years of supervisor experience is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Experience in a Medical Office environment is preferred.

Progressively more responsible positions in group practice management, in a large specialty group practice, strongly ence in OBGYN is preferred.
