Diploma

1. Patient Care: Providing compassionate and effective care to patients, including monitoring their health status, administering medications, and assisting with daily activities like bathing and feeding.

2. Health Assessments: Performing initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ health conditions, including taking vital signs, observing symptoms, and documenting medical histories.


3. Medication Administration: Administering prescribed medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects, and educating patients and families about medications.


4. Coordination of Care: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care, including doctors, specialists, and other nurses.

5. Patient Education: Educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive care measures to promote understanding and compliance.


6. Documentation: Keeping accurate and detailed records of patient care activities, assessments, and responses to treatment in electronic health records (EHRs).

7. Infection Control: Following protocols to prevent infections, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to isolation guidelines.

8. Support and Advocacy: Providing emotional support to patients and their families, advocating for their needs, and ensuring their rights and dignity are respected.


9. Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond to medical emergencies by providing immediate care, following protocols, and notifying appropriate medical personnel.


10. Continuous Learning: Participating in ongoing education and professional development activities to stay current with best practices, new technologies, and changes in healthcare policies.


11. Team Leadership: Depending on their experience, nurses may supervise junior staff, mentor new nurses or nursing students, and contribute to team dynamics. 12. Patient Safety: Ensuring patient safety by adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards, and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.
