Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Under the direction and review of a physician, the NP/PA provides patient care requiring the performance of general medical services in conformance with professional standards and regulations. Demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to assure assessment, treatment, and care is appropriate to the age of the patients served. According to established protocols, conducts clinical assessment of the patients’ health care status and needs and provides patient care to facilitate expected patient outcomes. Triages emergency walk-in patients. Assesses patients for pre-operative clearance. Provides counseling and education to patients in order to enhance patient care. Documents care provided in order to support the continuity of patient care and optimum patient outcomes.
